Jon Favreau's Jersey Boys put in turnaround by Warner Bros.

If you had asked me the other day what I thought the two major 2013 Oscar Contenders were, I would have said Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street and Jon Favreau's Jersey Boys. Both have major fall release dates and have a lot of appeal. But now it appears that Warner Bros. is looking to put the film in flux. The film doesn't have broad international appeal and that seems to be scaring Warner Bros. The film is now being shopped around to other studios like 20th Century Fox and Paramount. Favreau is actually meeting with Paramount to discuss producing the film there. It seems that Warner will now no longer have Jersey Boys and hopefully the film can still maintain its Christmas 2013 release date.

In addition, Collider reports that five actors are being eyed for major roles. Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood), James Badge Dale (Iron Man 3), Dominic Cooper (Captain America), John Magaro (Not Fade Away) and Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire). The film seems like it would be a good fit for the screen and the cast sounds good. I like Favreau as well and I hope they can get the film where it needs to be to get made.
